Hello, my name is Chelsea, and I'm addicted to all things Kate Spade.
From the black and white stripes, to the bold pink florals, to the tiny gold bow-shaped paper clips, the Kate Spade brand definitely has my heart. I was recently involved in a Valentine's Day styled shoot that featured reds, pinks, sequins, and bold graphics. As I was researching some ideas, I decided that there is no better inspiration than Kate Spade, so I hit the ground running and designed not one, but TWO wedding invitation suites to contribute! I warned you...I may or may not be obsessed.
I will tell you more about this shoot in an upcoming post, but for today, let's talk WEDDING INSPIRATION!
Kate Spade uses a lot of reds and pinks, so the color palette and romantic aesthetic is especially fitting for a Valentine's themed wedding (hint hint...Valentine's Day is this weekend! Make sure to give your sweetie an extra special smooch!)
I have pulled together 4 (yes, FOUR!) different mood boards and color palettes that you can use to incorporate a little bit of Kate Spade to your wedding day. Yes, all of them are centered around reds and pinks, so if you don't know me, let's just assume that my life and brand may or may not revolve around pink as well. (Ok, it totally does...)
Let's start with this very Valentine-y inspiration board. Pop on that bold lip, and find a wedding dress with subtle stripes! There are so many beautiful and chic dresses with stripes throughout, on the back, or at the hem, and I'm a little jealous I didn't find one myself! Use black and white stripes or polka dots as fun accents throughout, and consider adding sweet little notes on the napkins, finger food toothpicks, or table runners for that extra special touch.
Have you ever considered black and white stripes for your bridesmaids? How about tulle skirts? No? Well the above is exactly why you SHOULD consider it! Incorporate these bold graphic accents, and soften them with wild and lush pink and red floral arrangements. (Again with the striped dress...because it's gorgeous)
NOW we're having fun! Want to go over the top with a Kate Spade themed wedding? Why not step out of the box and into a black and white striped gown! Bright pink accents, dark table linens with gold silverware....I mean....come on. If you plan a wedding like this, can I PLEASE be on your guest list? I promise to wear my brightest pink, and will fluff your gorgeous gown the entire night. PLEASE?! (I also promise that I'm not creepy, just easily excitable...)
Was that a little too much? Did I go over the edge just now? My apologies...I'm bringing it right back into these sweet blush tones for you. You can still add super subtle accents that will evoke the Kate Spade feel, without going too bold. Nude and gold stripes with a deep blush skirt? Yes please! I'll take one of everything...and maybe 2 of those sparkly silver clutches. This is definitely a more casual way to do the chic graphics, but definitely no less amazing. (I'll still fluff your gown if you add me to the guest list!) This mood board can be completed with some gold foil and blush wedding invitations. A.MAZ.ING.
I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU
I hope you've been inspired by at least one (but hopefully all!) of the above mood boards. Let me know in the comments below if you have planned or attended a Kate Spade or Valentine's themed wedding or event...or if you are planning one now! Comment below with all your ooooo's and aaaaaah's, and how you would personalize the inspiration boards to fit your event!
